For Diwali, Gul Panag reused a 14-year-old suit saying that the festival theme for her is reuse and recycle. She posted the picture on her Instagram account.

Gul Panag took the internet by storm recently when she wore a twenty-year-old swimsuit on her vacation in the Maldives with her family. Gul had shared a collage of her wearing the same black swimsuit in 1999 and recently on the holiday.

The diva is known for repeating outfits and even the internet loves it when she does so. And she did something similar for Diwali too.

The actor managed to stun us all when she posted pictures of her wearing a 14-year-old suit on Diwali and needless to say, she rocked it perfectly.

My theme for this Diwali and the year ahead, is to reuse and recycle. It’s sustainable. And cost effective. (This brocade suit is 14 years old. πŸ’πŸ»β€β™€οΈ) In fact, I have been following this mantra, albeit subconsciously. Specially when it comes to outfits that are for occasional use. Probably because I’m lazy. And super busy. And somehow cannot get around to planning ahead when it comes to my sartorial selections. As a somewhat recognisable person, there are folks who write about what my kind wears. The pressure to please those faceless well meaning folks ( I like to give them the benefit of good intentions- the people that judge our clothes, appearance, weight , etc) is on everyone. Even those who are not in the public gaze. One thing that gets my goat is – β€˜not repeating outfits β€˜. Why the hell not ? Men can wear that same black suit again and again. But we can’t . Why ? Who decides? Another random stereotype that has been thrust on women- by women .πŸ€¦πŸ»β€β™€οΈ I’ve made a conscious decision to repeat outfits going forward. Remembering the journey of each outfit has its own sweet pleasure. What are your thoughts on repeating outfits ? And, would you like me to share the story behind each outfit as I repeat it ? #reuse #recycle #befit #diwali #sustainable πŸ“Έ : @therollingpanda_

Gul posted the pictures with the caption, “My theme for this Diwali and the year ahead, is to reuse and recycle. It’s sustainable. And cost effective. (This brocade suit is 14 years old.)”

She further added, “In fact, I have been following this mantra, albeit subconsciously. Specially when it comes to outfits that are for occasional use. Probably because I’m lazy. And super busy. And somehow cannot get around to planning ahead when it comes to my sartorial selections.”

Well, don’t we all relate to the feeling of not being able to plan our outfit before important occasions?
Gul Panag even said that she plans to make it “a conscious decision to repeat outfits going forward,” because according to her “remembering the journey of each outfit has its own sweet pleasure”.

For the Diwali celebrations, Gul donned a stunning brocade salwar kameez which featured golden embroidered details. She paired the ethnic outfit with a zari dupatta with gold gotta borders.

She accentuated the look with gold jhumkis, sleek bracelets, a sleek bun, kohled eyes, pink lipstick and subtle make-up.

She is the real inspiration.
